Metal Gear Survive beta to be held in January 2018

A Metal Gear Survive beta will be offered up in January, Konami has recently advised.

For those unaware, Metal Gear: Survive is super weird. In this spin-off, soldiers are transported to another dimension occupied with zombie-like things with crystals for heads. Your mission is to (… wait for it) survive. The game uses the same engine as Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, though franchise creator Hideo Kojima has jumped ship to make Death Stranding for Sony.

At any rate, Survive‘s beta will held between 18-21 January 2018 on both Xbox One and PS4. Those who participate in the beta will receive in-game rewards in the form of a Fox Hound name plate, Metal Gear REX head and accessory bandana. Not a bad haul, eh?

The news comes alongside a new video detailing the game’s single-player campaign. It’s below:

Metal Gear: Survive will be available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4. It heads to North America on 20 February and Europe and Australia from 22 February.
