Looks like the Resident Evil 2 Remake is happening

Capcom has been playing silly on Facebook over the last few days. First asking if fans would like to see a remake of Resident Evil 2, before all but confirming it a few short hours later.

Now, Yoshiaki Hirabayashi — the fellow known as H on the Resident Evil Facebook page — has posted yet another update, this time announcing he has pitched his Resident Evil 2 remake idea to his boss.

“Hello RE fans! This is H again! Right after the RE HD Remaster project was finished, I actually started putting together my ideas for this ‘RE2 Project’. So, I just brushed it up and went to see my boss to present the basic concept of the project already…” he wrote.

According to Gematsu the characters underneath Biohazard 2 read “New Rebirth Project.”

Let’s keep our fingers crossed for a faithful recreation, just like 2002’s Gamecube remake of Resident Evil.
