Square Enix have revealed an upcoming crossover collaboration between Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. A new trailer for Lightning Returns has also been released.
The crossover is the work of a unique collaboration between the two development teams responsible for the upcoming games. In Lightning Returns players will be able to complete a quest and obtain the Miqo’te outfit for Lightning. Inspired by the Miqo’te race featured in FFXIV the outfit comes complete with ears and a tail. Players will also be able to acquire customisable weapons and shields featuring designs from the three main cities in Eorzea.
In FFXIV a special Full Active Time Event (F.A.T.E) will see Lightning join the Eorzean adventurers in battle. Items inspired by FFXIII will be collectible and characters can wear either a Lightning or Snow costume.
The brand new trailer for Lightning Returns — which was unveiled at San Diego Comic-con — reveals new details about the upcoming game.
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is coming to PS3 and PC 27 August 2013 and PS4 later this year.
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will be available for PS3 and Xbox 36o on 13 February 2014.
