LeBron James is joining the world of Fortnite

The King of NBA will soon be playable for the first time ever in the popular battle royale.

Epic Games has just announced that later this week, LeBron James will soon become a playable character in Fortnite.

LeBron’s inclusion to the realm of Fortnite is part of their current Icons Series. James now joins the likes of Travis Scott, Marshmello and Major Lazer in the Series. Given the recent partnership between the NBA and Fortnite, LeBron’s inclusion may not come as a surprise to fans. However, many will be excited by this development.

3 different outfits will be available

Players will be able to style LeBron in three different outfits. A taco t-shirt and cargo shorts number will be available for a very casual appearance to celebrate Taco Tuesday. Additionally, gamers will be able to dress LeBron up in his Tune Squad uniform. This is likely included to help promote his new film Space Jam A New Legacy which has just been released.

However, if gamers are looking for a more badass outfit for the NBA star, they won’t be disappointed. The game also includes a skin that has Lebron decked out in sunglasses and features a literal crown floating above his head.  Epic Games are describing the LeBron James outfit as, “the best of LeBron’s on-court and pre-game persona.”

This outfit also comes with the King James Gear Bundle. This includes the Lion Pickaxe, Wingspan Glider and a customised celebration dance that mimics his on court celebration. What’s more, this skin and bundle all feature progressive edit slider which will allow players to add more than 20 gold variations of the outfit.

Completing the outfits with some epic footwear

Clothes aren’t the only thing you’ll be able to customise for Lebron. He’ll also be sporting some fresh new kicks. Players will get their first look at the new unreleased Nike LeBron 19 shoes and will be able to run, jump and build their way around the island in the flashy pair of shoes.

LeBron James will be made available to players on 15 July at 10am AEST.

Fortnite is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5.
