Hogwarts Legacy delayed to February 2023

Oh, no...

Hogwarts Legacy has been delayed to 10 February 2023, Warner Bros and Portkey Games have today confirmed.

The title was originally expected in late 2022. Like Marvel’s Midnight Suns before it, the anticipated Harry Potter-themed title will have a staggered release date depending on console.

Hogwarts Legacy will launch on February 10, 2023 for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. The Nintendo Switch launch date will be revealed soon,” Portkey and WB said via Twitter.

“The team is excited for you to play, but we need a little more time to deliver the best possible game experience.”

Hogwarts Legacy has a bit of a troubled history, set in a world created by transphobe J.K. Rowling and with a former staffer allegedly connected to alt-right movements. A report from last year suggests Warner Bros and Portkey Games are including the ability to play as a transgender character in-game, though this has not been fully confirmed. The topic wasn’t discussed during today’s State of Play either.

Hogwarts Legacy is expected later on 10 February 2023 on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S & X, PS4, PS5 and Switch.
