Halo: Nightfall actor explains his role in Halo 5: Guardians

Actor Mike Colter has spoken with IGN, talking about the role his character in Halo: Nightfall, Commander James Locke, will have in Halo 5.

Halo 5: Guardians will feature Locke as one of the playable characters and hints he will become a focus of the series in future games. Guardians will feature his transition to a Spartan, and will also feature Cortana, the AI companion of Master Chief and candidate for the ‘strangest love interest’ award over the first four games.

Colter talks extensively about the amount of studio time he has put in for Halo 5 doing voice acting and motion capture, so it sounds like he is a big deal in Guardians. it’s hard to imagine a core Halo game without the Master Chief as the main focus (though Halo: Reach is my favourite of the series), but 343 are spreading their wings here and making the strongest attempts yet to introduce new characters to the Halo saga.
