Half-Life Alyx is a prequel that heads to Windows PC VR via Valve Index, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Windows Mixed Reality in March 2020. Here’s all we know about it so far.
Half-Life Alyx setting
Set between Half-Life and Half-Life 2, players will (obviously) fill the shoes of protagonist Alyx Vance as she and her father Eli fight the Combine in City 17. Polygon has noted, however, that a particular voice line may suggest that Alyx also picks up after the events of Half-Life 2; one can hope, right?
Half-Life Alyx developers & Final Hours doco
Half-Life Alyx is being developed by Valve (obviously), but today we learned that a number of developers from the recently acquired Campo Santo (Firewatch) have been moved over to the project. While that’s good news in itself, the trade-off is that Campo Santo’s In the Valley of the Gods appears to have been shuttered.
The news comes from The Game Awards’ Geoff Keighley, who posted a new “Final Hours” epsidoe about Alyx and its development.
