Gran Turismo 7 looks to be coming in 2016

Kazunori Yamauchi, the man behind Gran Turismo, has spoken with Italian gaming site Spazio Games (you’ll need to translate that page) about the future of Sony’s flagship driving franchise.

The biggest revelation is Yamauchi’s denial of a 2017 release date for Gran Turismo 7, claiming fans will not wait so long for the next game. This makes a 2016 release a near certainty. His focus for the game is on improving damage and crash physics, a long time weak point of the series compared to their Microsoft rival, Forza Motorsport.

If a 2016 release is indeed on the cards then chances are good we see or hear about Gran Turismo 7 at E3 next week.
