God of War’s Christopher Judge will voice Avengers’ Black Panther

Boy.

God of War‘s Christopher Judge, the voice of Kratos, will also play King T’Challa, the Black Panther in Crystal Dynamics’ Avengers.

Speaking with EW, Judge said he first believed that no one else should portray the character after the passing of MCU star Chadwick Boseman.

“The actual talks proceeded and, basically, I wound up doing it because my mother and my children said if I didn’t do it, they would disown me,” he said.

“To be quite honest, I was fearful of being compared to what Chadwick had so wonderfully done. The only way I could really wrap my head around it was to not even attempt a voice match, to let my performance stand on its own. I put all that into it and hopefully people like it.”

The article continues on to state that War for Wakanda, the game’s next big expansion, will be set approximately five years after the events of A-Day.

Avengers is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S & X, PS4, PS5 and Stadia. War for Wakanda is available in August.
