From Software started developing Dark Souls III without Miyazaki

Hidetaka Miyazaki was busy working on PS4 exclusive Bloodborne when From Software started development on Dark Souls III, but he was quick to join the team as soon as he was able.

Speaking with IGN, Miyazaki explains that From Software’s President asked Miyazaki to assist with development as the “prototyping was hitting some speed bumps.” While working on Bloodborne, Miyazaki realised he still had a desire to return to Dark Souls especially as there were things that couldn’t be done in Bloodborne.

“I was reminiscing of the things I could have done in Dark Souls that weren’t possible in Bloodborne, and was reminded of the beauty of fantasy. It was the perfect time to return to Dark Souls… and inject some new ideas,” he said.

Dark Souls III will be available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One from 12 April 2016.
