Mei's mangled and LeBron's LeBroken.
It’s a rough day for free-to-play multiplayers out there with two major titles disabling crowd favourites. Overwatch 2‘s frost flinging Mei and MultiVersus‘ basketballing brawler LeBron James have both been taken offline for bug fixes.
Blizzard tweeted that Mei would be temporarily disabled but said they’re working to have her back within the fortnight.
[#OW2] We are temporarily disabling Mei to address a bug with her Ice Wall ability that allows heroes to reach unintended locations. We are working to address these issues as quickly as possible and aim to bring Mei back in our next upcoming patch which is set for November 15. pic.twitter.com/dHP65pMCsX

This is the second time LeBron has made gaming news today. His MultiVersus future is a little less certain with Game Director Tony Huynh taking a more ‘when it’s ready’ approach.
We are disabling LeBron due to a critical bug with him. We will reenable after the bug is fixed. Thank you for your patience. #MultiVersus

The bug in question for LeBron appears to be his refusal to dispose of his basketball during his dunk ability. This severely impacts balance because LeBron is supposed to be hamstrung while he waits for a new ball.
This is the first time that Player First Games have had to remove a fighter from free-to-play MultiVersus. Blizzard on the other hand is no stranger to trimming their roster.
Mei is the third character to be removed due to bugs since Overwatch 2‘s release last month. Like Mei, Bastion was taken offline completely while Torbjorn was restricted to quickplay.
Here’s hoping the issues are at an end and players can pick their favourites unimpeded.
