Fornite mobile coming to iOS, Android; will support cross-play with all

Update 2: Sign-ups on iOS are now open, right here. Happy playing!

Update: Epic has confirmed that Xbox One will also support “cross-play, cross-progression, and cross-purchase” like Windows PC, PS4, iOS and Android. This means the features will be present in all versions of the popular shooter.

Original story: Fornite will head to mobile devices from next week, Epic has today confirmed.

The popular title will first head to iOS, and an Android release to follow.

“On phones and tablets, Fortnite is the same 100-player game you know from PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac,” Epic detailed in a blog post. “Same gameplay, same map, same content, same weekly updates.”

The mobile version of the title will support cross-play between PC and PS4, and between iOS and Android when released as well, Epic confirmed. It’s presumed Xbox One cross-play is unavailable due to an existing agreement between Epic and Sony.

Expect Fornite  first on iOS via early access that will kick off from 12 March; sign up here to try to be included at launch. An Android program will follow shortly thereafter.

Fortnite and Fornite: Battle Royale are currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
