And will have cross-play for its franchise swansong.
FIFA 23, the last game in EA Sports’ long-running franchise, has promised an “evolution of HyperMotion2 technology” before it transitions to EA Sports Football Club.
“The advancements to FIFA 23‘s HyperMotion2 technology and physics system have unlocked an array of new features making the gameplay experience feel more immersive than ever,” EA said in a press release.
“Team and player movement across the pitch is more responsive, smart and authentic, whether jockeying against a defender or claiming an aerial ball against an attacker as a keeper. Players can also look forward to a new intelligent dribbling system, a more natural and fluid transition to shooting, all-new acceleration mechanics, enhanced player awareness and much more.”
FIFA 23 will also add new animations specific to female players with the debut of women’s club teams including the Barclays Women’s Super League and Division 1 Arkema at launch.
Cross-play will be available “across multiple online game modes” — Xbox One and PS4 consoles will be grouped, as will Xbox Series S & X, PS5, PC and Stadia.
Furthermore, free, post-launch updates will include the men’s FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023.
Players can expect FIFA 23 on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5 and Stadia from 30 September. An Ultimate Edition provides three-day early access from 27 September.
