Fallout 4 current-gen update delayed to 2024

Patience, Vault Dweller.

The Fallout 4 current-gen update has been delayed into 2024, Bethesda has today announced.

“Thank you for your patience with us as we work on the Fallout 4 next-gen update,” Bethesda said in a statement. “We know you’re excited, and so are we! But we need a bit more time and look forward to an exciting return to the Commonwealth in 2024.”

The update itself was first announced back in October and promised for a 2023 release.

“Coming in 2023, this free update will be available for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and Windows PC systems, including performance mode features for high frame rates, quality features for 4K resolution gameplay and even bonus Creation Club content,” Bethesda said of the update at the time.

While it’s a bummer that the update won’t be available this year, the delay means it’ll likely coincide with the release of Prime Video’s upcoming Fallout TV series.

Fallout 4 was released back in 2015, and we loved it in our review. The title already takes advantage of FPS Boost on Xbox Series S and X consoles.
