Fall Guys players realise there’s more Fame in losing than winning

Want to rank up? Throw games.

Fall Guys players have realised there’s more Fame to be found in losing matches than winning them after the game’s transition to a free-to-play title.

Over on Reddit, user hold_my_cocoa has shown they can receive 24 Fame — XP for the title’s new Season Pass system — for immediately throwing a game in its first round as compared to 107 Fame for winning the crown.

Moreover, the user’s research showed that players receive more Fame for the initial rounds of a match rather than later ones.

“I really hate how the medals reward [you] with the same amount of fame,” user littleMAHER1 added. “Makes [you] wonder why they even changed the loading screen to add the medals + how to earn them when getting gold still gives [you the] same as getting last.”

There are a number of Achievements or Trophies tied to either strategy. In terms of Fame, players will need to hit ranks 25 and 40 in the Season Pass, so it might be worth throwing games to get there. Alternatively, there are a number of gongs tied to actually winning crowns, so you might be better sticking it out if that’s what you’re after.

The game also has a number of challenges and events that’ll actually reward proper gameplay; Halo-themed one is due this week.

Fall Guys is available on PS4 and PS5; it heads to Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and Windows PC via Epic Games Store from 21 June.
