F.A.N.G. announced for Street Fighter V, DLC fighters confirmed

A tonne of Street Fighter V news came out of the PlayStation Experience with the reveal of F.A.N.G. chief amongst it.

F.A.N.G. is the final fighter for the title’s roster at launch and is the second in command of Shadaloo. F.A.N.G. uses poison in his attacks and brings a new mechanic to the series. When he connects with an opponent, they become poisoned and will continually take damage until they manage to land a strike on him.

F.A.N.G. combines long range attacks with his poison ability to inflict devastating damage on his foes.

In November, data mining suggested that six veteran Street Fighter characters would be returning to Street Fighter V as post launch DLC. This has been confirmed as true at PSX and the six characters are;

• Guile – Debuted in Street Fighter II
• Balrog – Street Fighter II
• Ibuki – Street Fighter III, Street Fighter IV
• Juri – New character introduced in Super Street Fighter IV
• Alex – Street Fighter III
• Urien – Street Fighter III

Each of the six characters can be earned and unlocked for free by playing the title or they can be purchases in a variety of ways. The title’s Season Pass is on sale now in North America and costs $29.95 USD. The Season Pass grants instant access to all six new characters when they’re released as well as a premium costume for each and an exclusive PS4 theme.

Players who aren’t sure if they want all six characters have two other options. They can purchase Zenny, an in-game currency, for real world money and unlock only the characters they wish, or they can earn Fight Money through play until they have enough to unlock the new content. 100 Zenny equates to $1 USD and is sold in the following packs:

• 100 Zenny = Purchase for $0.99
• 550 Zenny = Purchase for $4.99 (receive a 50 Zenny bonus)
• 1200 Zenny = Purchase for $9.90 (receive a 200 Zenny bonus)
• 4000 Zenny = Purchase for $29.99 (receive a 1000 Zenny bonus)

Each of the six characters will be priced at 600 Zenny when purchased separately. It’s not yet known how much Fight Money they will cost or how quick or easy it is to earn. Purchasing each of the six characters separately with Zenny equates to $60 USD.

Street Fighter V will be available for PC and PS4 in 2016.
