Evolve Season Pass and DLC plans revealed

Turtle Rock Studios 4v1 shooter Evolve arrives next month and that means it is time to find out about season passes, downloadable content and pre-order bonuses. Evolve hits all three, detailed below. Also of interest to Xbox One owners will be that the game can be pre-loaded from today if you purchase the game, for those who want to jump straight in on launch night.

While not quite at a Watch Dogs level of complexity 2K haven’t made things easy for us, some bonuses are time limited exclusives, others downloadable content and others promises of future content. Here is what you can get:

Pre Order Bonus – All digital pre-orders get the “Monster Expansion Pack” for free, which will retail for $14.99 USD. It nets you a fourth monster, “Behemoth” and a monster skin.

“Hunting Season Pass” – The season pass for Evolve comes with the two digital special editions below, and will retail for $24.99 USD. It contains three exclusive monster skins at release and four new hunters that will be available later.

Evolve Digital Deluxe Edition – Includes the “Hunting Season Pass” and the “Monster Expansion Pack”. It will retail for $79.99 USD.

Evolve PC Monster Race Edition – Includes everything above, plus an unannounced fifth monster when available, two more additional hunters and four monster skins that will be exclusive for 30 days. It will retail for $99 USD.

All of the extras beyond the fourth monster sound underwhelming to me, but I don’t care much for skins and cosmetics in games. With all maps in Evolve promised to be free and not a whole lot of discounts on offer here except for the PC Monster Race Edition, I can handle just grabbing the base game. The Xbox One exclusive beta is currently running, with the full game available 10 February for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. PS4 and PC pre-order offerings will be made available at a later time.
