The Evil Within no match for God mode and no clipping

Remember when the tilde key was a useful addition to the keyboard? That was mainly because it granted access to the console, a mythical creature of the Quake era who would provide game breaking cheats in exchange for obscure commands. PC games these days shun the console and the creative freedom it provided, but not The Evil Within developers Tango Gameworks. On the Bethesda forums they have provided a list of console commands to muck around with the very fabric of the game, at least for the PC version.

Follow the link for the full details on how to access the console and the commands to use, but the features available include the ability to stop time, God mode (invincibility), no clipping (walking through walls), infinite ammo and settings to unlock the framerate or change the aspect ratio. It warms the heart of this old PC gamer, even if said heart doesn’t have the mettle to survive The Evil Within.

The Evil Within is out tomorrow in Australia for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Our (rather positive) review is here.
