The Overwatch Contenders Australia Season 2 finals are set for this weekend at the Melbourne Esports Arena, Blizzard has confirmed.
The finals will feature the best Aussie and Kiwi up-and-comers in the Overwatch scene, with Dark Sided, ORDER, Kanga Esports and the undefeated Sydney Drop Bears scheduled to play. The Drop Bears are looking to win back-to-back Contenders Australia titles — think they can manage it?
“Melbourne Esports Open attendees can expect giant videoscreens, full concert lighting and concert-level audio production, plus a range of other Overwatch experiences, cosplayers and more,” Blizzard confirmed in a press release.
The event will also be livestreamed over Twitch.
Taking place over 1-2 September at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena, tickets for the Melbourne Esports Open are now on sale via Ticketek. Prices start at $19.90 AUD for juniors and $29.90 AUD for adults. Family day passes start at $79.90 AUD. The event also provides Aussies an early crack at games like Spider-Man and The Division 2.
