The NBA’s Sacramento Kings to open an Esports training facility

The NBA’s Sacramento Kings plan to open an Esports training facility within their home court, the Golden 1 Centre pro arena.

Via Engadget, we now know that the Kings plan to have a “venue within a venue,” with a training facility, gamer lounge and broadcast centre all housed within the Kings’ home court.

The venue will have super-fast internet for lag-free gaming, theatre-style seating and access to the same amenities as the Kings’: a farm-to-fork culinary program and on-demand oxygen bar.

Finally, the planned Esports studio will also be armed with 4K cameras and green screens to allow for easy livestreaming. Local schools and non-profit organisations will also be able to use the site as well, according to the Sacramento Kings Foundation.

Back in February 2017, the NBA and Take-Two announced the NBA Esports league. Action kicks off in January 2018.
