Eon Ticket for latest Pokémon games spreading via StreetPass

Nintendo started sharing the Eon Ticket for Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire today, the in game item that allows you to get rare Pokémon Latios and Latias.

With a half hour window for distribution at only six stores through Australia and New Zealand chances are you missed it today at lunchtime, although Nintendo have announced there will be more chances to pick it up at various EB Games stores. While their distribution methods leave something to be desired, Nintendo do allow the Eon Ticket to be shared via StreetPass, which sounds like it will be the way to track one down at conventions, tournaments or the school yard (non-school aged gamers may want to be careful about that one).

I appreciate Nintendo using unorthodox methods to distribute in game items, but with the blatant cross promotion here with EB Games, the ridiculously limited time frame to get the item from in store and the even more limited number of stores this was available in (six, one each in Sydney, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Auckland) you have to wonder how much thought goes in to these promotions. Let’s hope there are more chances to pick this up for Pokémon fans, lest they be stuck waiting to PAX 2015 to get their ticket.
