Eidos Montreal Guardians of the Galaxy game coming October 2021

That's right -- later this year.

An Eidos Montreal Guardians of the Galaxy game will head to PC, Xbox and PlayStation in October of this year, Square Enix today confirmed.

The title will aim for 30 frames-per-second (FPS) on Xbox One and PS4, and run in either 4K and 30FPS or 1080p and 60FPS on Xbox Series and PS5 consoles, Eidos Montreal’s Olivier Proulx confirmed with Stevivor.

Proulx also confirmed that the studio is working on the inclusion of ray-tracing, though the feature might not make it for the game’s 26 October 2021 launch.

A single-player title, we’ll fill the shoes of Star-Lord as he uses his jet-boots and blaster to take out threats. As Star-Lord, you’ll also be able to call upon the abilities of your fellow Guardians when in battle.

Guardians of the Galaxy heads to Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5 on 26 October 2021. Take a look at the game below and head here for our own preview from 6.00 am AEST.
