EA’s Play to Give initiative ties in-game challenges to charitable donations

EA today introduced a Play to Give, in which in-game challenges will be tied to charities. Success in challenges means money for those real-world charitable organisations.

The charities supported by EA include HeForShe, the National Centre for Women and Information Technology, CODE.org , CODE2040 and Special Effect. All up, EA will donate $1 million USD to these organisations.

EA offered up a couple examples of the challenges gamers will face. In Battlefield 4 and Battlefield: Hardline, challenges will be tied to in-game support.

In FIFA Ultimate Team, those who win the Play to Give Cup will be offered exclusive in-game items.
