E3 attendance rises while exhibitors drop; next year’s dates announced

The Entertainment Software Association yesterday confirmed that close to 48,900 people attended this year’s E3 in Los Angeles.

Attendance rose slightly from 48,200 attendees last year, while the number of companies with exhibits dropped by 13%.

“The video game industry’s explosive growth and technological innovation were front and center at E3 2014,” ESA president Michael Gallagher said. “Video games are the most innovative and engaging force driving our culture and entertainment experiences the world over. Congratulations to our incredibly creative members, partners, exhibitors, and the hundreds of millions of gamers who engaged with the show online and through social media.”to see the latest computer and video game hardware and software from 200 exhibitors, the Entertainment Software Association announced today.

Next year’s E3 will take place between 16-18 June, once again in the Los Angeles Convention Center.
