The Division 2 announced by Ubisoft

The Division 2, a sequel to Tom Clancy’s The Division, has officially been announced by Ubisoft as the original game celebrates its 2 year anniversary today.

Revealed on The Division‘s live stream show State of the Game, Creative Director Julian Gerighty and game director Mathias Karlson confirmed that Massive Entertainment has been working on Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 since just after the first game shipped in 2016. The Division 2 will be based on an updated version of the Snowdrop Engine and is being developed in collaboration with Ubisoft Annecy, Redstorm, Reflections, Ubisoft Bucharest, Ubisoft Sofia and Ubisoft Shanghai.

Unfortunately that’s about all the information we know for the moment; no launch date was announced or what platforms we might expect to see the game on – although Tom Clancy’s The Division was released on Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

We’ve been told to sit tight until E3 2018 in June for more details so we’re going to have to hold out until then.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is planned for Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
