The Division 2 has 8-player Raids, Ubisoft confirms

The Division 2 will feature 8-player Raids, Ubisoft today detailed.

It’s a dramatic move from Massive, the developer of the game, as most Division activities allow for a team of 4 players.

We asked Massive’s Cristian Pana, Senior Producer on The Division 2, if players would be given tools to find enough people to tackle the event.

The answer? Pana didn’t specify exactly what would be offered but did hint at new features.

“First of all, you have to get more friends,” Pana began, jokingly.

“I would recommend you to go with the Dark Zone, because that’s where we get the … to get good friends there. That’s how I get them, in the Dark Zone, because I like that a lot.

“We can offer different options, like social features, that will help you build a squad, but also help you build a raid squad. That is is very important because you’re gonna need to be really, really prepared to tackle Raids. It’s gonna be a very hard challenge, and if you’re not prepared, you don’t stand a chance.”

Pana did stress that there were endgame options for those who prefer to play as a lone wolf.

“I’m a lone wolf player, so I love to play in the Dark Zone,” he said. “For me, the Dark Zone is where you create your own story. So I have great stories from the first game, and now with the revised Dark Zone experience, we’re gonna have that type of activity, so you can play alone of course, lone wolf, but also all the activities that we gonna have at launch, they’ll be playable with, so you can play it solo and up to four players in co-op.

The Division 2 heads to Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 on 15 March 2019.
