Kojima almost made a game too much like The Boys (and its showrunner wants it!)

Sounds good to us.

Death Stranding‘s Hideo Kojima discontinued work on a new video game as he felt it was too similar to Prime Video’s The Boys… and now The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke wants to make it happen.

Kojima took to Twitter to detail a title that he was conceptualising before watching The Boys and discovering too many similarities.

“I watched a few episodes that were delivered at the time when I was about to start a project that I had been warming up for a long time, and put it on hold because the concept was similar (different settings and tricks),” Kojima tweeted. “A buddy (male/female) thing with a special detective squad facing off against legendary heroes behind the scenes. I was thinking of Mads [Mikkelsen] as the lead.”

The Boys showrunner Kripke jumped on the tweet, writing, “Please come make a [The Boys] game. We can team up and conquer! Huge fan, btw.

Homelander actor Anthony Starr added, “Second that notion” to the proposal.

Would you play a buddy cop The Boys game by Kojima?

The Boys is currently streaming on Prime Video here in Australia.
