Devil May Cry 5 at 60FPS is what Capcom is aiming for, the publisher has recently declared.
Speaking with Famitsu (via Siliconera), the team behind Devil May Cry 5 are aiming for photorealism combined with “tight Capcom play control.” To reach that, the team needs to hit 60FPS, it said.
Capcom will allow a motion cancel mechanic in-game, but in-game animations won’t be skipped. If they were, Capcom said it would cause “the uncanny valley of action.”
In the interview, Capcom also confirmed that Devil May Cry 5 takes place a few years after Devil May Cry 4 and that the game is around 75% complete.
Devil May Cry 5 is planned for a 2019 release on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
