Development Studio Yager files for insolvency

Yager Development, the studio behind Spec-Ops: The Line and until recently Dead Island 2, has filed for insolvency.

In a statement released by Yager’s Managing Director Timo Ullmann , he claims that the insolvency is a direct result of having been removed from Dead Island 2 development.  “The insolvency filing is a direct result from the early termination of the project and helps protecting our staff. In the course of the proceedings, we gain time to sort out the best options for reorganizing this entity,” he wrote.

Ullmann also advised that staff wages have been secured and that the wider studio will remain unaffected by the insolvency. Yager will continue to develop sci-fi title Dreadnought.
