Destiny tips: Gold chest, dead Ghost locations and super secret codes

Now that the Destiny beta’s on a bit of a break, is out, we thought it’d be a great chance to get Guardians up to speed with some special tips and tricks.

Whether you’re a well-established PlayStation player or a newbie Xbox one, these tips will help give you the edge on the Tower, Earth and beyond.

Gold chest locations guide

Friend of the site Somewhat Aweseome Rob has made this handy video guide that shows where all 5 Gold Chests are located in Old Russia:

Grabbing all five chests will net you a fancy new Sparrow, coloured according to your class.

18 dead Ghost locations guide

YouTuber Datto has also come through with a comprehensive list of 18 dead Ghost locations in the following video:

Have you found any that he’s missed? Each dead Ghost will provide one Grimoire Card to bone up on Destiny lore.

Destiny’s secret codes

Bungie has been distributing Destiny trading cards with redeemable codes attached, and Reddit users have complied a full list of their contents.

Pray things carry over into the full release game

Hitting the level 8 cap with your character means you might want to consider starting another if you’re getting a bit bored in the beta. Just remember though that Bungie hasn’t yet decided if your characters will carry over into the full game. Our advice? Don’t get attached to your characters just yet. That, and be prepared to track down these dead Ghosts and gold chests again come September and Destiny‘s full release.
