Destiny Red Bull promotion exploited to steal game codes

You have to wake up pretty early to fool the internet, and it looks like Red Bull and Activision have slept in the morning they released their Destiny cross promotion. Turns out the free codes are fairly easy to generate using some basic rules and guesswork, allowing those in the know to make up their own codes, get the free content and since the codes are single use, invalidate the code on a can somebody else will purchase.

The rush to get free content brought down the Red Bull promotional site, and now that the issue is out in the open chances are a ‘make good’ for those with now invalidated codes will be on its way. Still, for a game as big as Destiny and a promotion as reviled as this one, it was always going to be a target for scams and exploits. It was just very easy for one to be found.
