Destiny 2 Witch Queen expansion delayed into 2022

But cross-play is a go for 2021!

The Destiny 2 The Witch Queen expansion has been delayed into 2022, Bungie has recently confirmed.

“With COVID-19 keeping us away from the office, and the large amount of work on our plates, we needed to move the date in order to make sure that both this year’s updates and The Witch Queen were both delivered at the quality we strive for, and on a schedule that made sense for everyone involved,” Bungie’s Joe Blackburn wrote.

Bungie also explained that it need to add an additional chapter after 2022’s planned Lightfall expansion to properly round out the “first saga of Destiny.”

At the same time, the developer said that the addition of cross-play in Destiny 2 is still on track for this year, alongside “our approach to keeping Destiny’s weapon and armor game fresh, refining our vision for PVP [and] implementing transmog.”

Destiny 2 is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S & X, PS4, PS5 and Stadia where available.
