Destiny 2 Prestige Raid beaten in just over one hour [UPDATE: by cheating!]

Update 2: Bungie has responded to the situation.

“We have seen the reports that an ammo exploit was used today in the Prestige Raid. This was not the specific exploit we were checking for and we don’t currently have the ability to detect it,” Bungie’s Cozmo said.

“Tomorrow we will release the top 3 finishers in the TWAB. You can make your own decision as to who should be celebrated.”

Update: Destiny 2 players are furious that Bungie has issued Clan Redeem with the clear after use of an in-game glitch has been discovered.

The “coil glitching” detailed above involves the Exotic rocket launcher Wardcliff Coil. If you pick up 1 ammo for the Exotic and then switch to another power weapon, the glitch will give you full ammo for that second gun.

Redeem players are heard confirming they’re using the glitch in the video linked above.

We’re awaiting a response from Bungie, though the developer delayed the Prestige Raid by a week to ensure the winning Fireteam would have to clear it without techniques of this nature. Bungie admitted it couldn’t fix a known exploit, so released the Raid anyway — though the Wardcliff Coil glitch wasn’t the one the developer had in mind.

Original story: The Destiny 2 Prestige Raid is now available, and one Clan’s already beaten it in just over an hour.

Clan Redeem took just one hour and six minutes to accomplish the feat. The Clan’s Fireteam was made up of Guardians Sweatcicle, Modern Tryhard, Ehroaar, I Indica I, Senior Snubby and Gladd.

Redeem was followed up by a second Clan that was only four minutes slower, Bungie has also confirmed.

Neither Clan took advantage of the exploit that caused the Prestige Leviathan Raid’s one-week delay.

Redeem was the first Clan to complete the original Destiny’s Wrath of the Machine Raid.

Congrats to Clan Redeem.

Destiny 2 is available now on Xbox One and PS4. It heads to Windows PC via Battle.net next week; pre-loading is now available.
