Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris DLC reveal: Raid Lair, story info

Bungie took to Twitch earlier this morning for a big Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris DLC reveal.

We’ll cover all the main points from the video, available in full below, but you’re welcome to watch along if you prefer.

Story-based content

As expected the DLC’s story-based mode features the time-twisting Vex, and of course, the fabled Guardian called Osiris. An introductory cutscene featured Osiris and his Ghost, Sagira, as they explore a Vex reality engine called The Infinite Forest (not technically part of the Vault of Glass, Bungie today confirmed).

Sagira, voiced by Morena Baccarin, is a very different character than our own Ghost, seemingly more active in combat. She assisted Osiris in calling out enemies and shooting angles, proving herself a worthy asset.

Bungie said the story is designed to dive deep into Destiny lore, focusing on Osiris and, more specifically, the Vex and their true intentions for the universe. It takes place after the conclusion of Destiny 2‘s Red War.

Endgame

Bungie reiterated that the game’s level cap will be increased to 335 thanks to the DLC.

Moreover, The Lighthouse will serve as a new in-game Hub, and comes with a tracker that offers 12 optional quests to complete. Completing each quest will offer up a special new weapon.

The Raid Lair

Destiny 2 won’t get a new Raid, per say, but a Raid Lair instead.

A Raid Lair is a “Raid activity,” according to Bungie, offering up “new encounters, new puzzles, new loot [and] completely new places to explore.” It also presents a new “final boss” for players to shoot.

Bungie admitted that the Raid Lair is “not as lengthy as the original Leviathan” and will provide new Raid armour weapons and cosmetics to earn.

The full reveal stream is below.

Two additional “Curse of Osiris” streams will be offered by Bungie ahead of the content’s release on 5 December. The remaining streams will take place at the following times:

  • New Ways to Play (Activities reveal): 6.00 am AEDT, 22 November
  • New Gear to Earn (New gear, Crucible map reveal): 6.00 am AEDT, 30 November

Destiny 2 is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
