Destiny 2 Crimson Days event hopes to win back players’ hearts

Destiny 2 Crimson Days returns this year after a one-year hiatus, and brings with it some decent rewards.

Similar to the 2016 event, Crimson Days will bring back 2v2 Crucible play using the Clash gameplay mode alongside a new Burning Shrine set in a future timeline.

In the 2v2 Clash, partners will gain faster recharge on abilities by staying in close proximity to one another. Should you split up, your enemies will gain on-screen prompts to track you down and take you out. Yikes.

New rewards will be issued in the form of a Crimson Engram, designed to stop duplicate drops for players.

“No matter which activity you play in Destiny 2 during Crimson Days, every player will receive both an Illuminated Engram and a Crimson Engram when they level up,” Bungie advised.

The event will offer specific milestones with big rewards:

  • Complete the milestone “Welcome to Crimson Days” by finishing five Crimson Days matches and visiting Lord Shaxx in the Tower to earn the Fire of the Crimson Days Emblem and the Tirastrella Ghost Shell.
  • Complete matches in the Crimson Days Crucible playlist for a chance to earn the Undeterred Exotic Sparrow.
  • Complete either the Leviathan Raid or the Raid Lair: Eater of Worlds to claim the Dieselpunk Exotic Ornament for Wardcliff Coil from the final chest.
  • Complete the Nightfall Strike during the Crimson Days event to earn the Flaunting Dance Emote.

Players can also buy Crimson Engram contents from Tess at the Eververse. Two steps forward, one step back, eh Bungie?

The Destiny 2 Crimson Days event will kick off on 13 February and finish up on 20 February.

Destiny 2 is available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
