Destiny 2: Bungie re-enables access to Achievements without DLC

Destiny 2 developer Bungie has detailed changes that will allow players without “Curse of Osiris” to access most of the game’s events.

The game’s latest expansion essentially locked vanilla players from Prestige Nightfall and Raid events, potentially locking those same players from getting all Achievements or Trophies in the game.

Today, Bungie confirmed that the Prestige Leviathan Raid “will be brought back down to Power 300, and its rewards will drop down to match the new Power Level,” meaning all players will have access to the Prestige Raid, its corresponding Achievement and the Legend of Acrius Exotic Shotgun quest.

That said, the Prestige Nightfall will remain at its current 330 Power cap, meaning those without “Curse of Osiris” cannot take part. Bungie said it will instead alter the “The Prestige” Achievement or Trophy so it only relates to the Prestige Raid and not Prestige Nightfall.

Moreover, special events like Trials of the Nine will only lock out vanilla players when the event is set on a “Curse of Osiris” map, meaning access will potentially change from week to week. While most events like Iron Banner, Faction Rally, and The Dawning will be made available to all players, special seasonal rewards like Ornaments will not.

Destiny 2 is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
