Dead by Daylight Alan Wake DLC coming 30 January

The Champion of Light... or the Herald of Darkness?

Dead by Daylight Alan Wake DLC is coming 30 January, Behaviour Interactive has today declared.

Remedy’s titular creation will act as a survivor within the asymettrical horror game, and from the announcement trailer (below) will make use of his writing talents in order to try to escape. The role of Alan himself will be reprised by Ilkka Villi (likeness) and Matthew Porretta (voice).

“Trapped in the Dark Place and fighting to escape, Alan’s attempt to write his freedom leads him into The Entity’s thralls, trading one Dark Place for another,” Behaviour said alongside the trailer.

“We are thrilled to bring Alan Wake, our tortured writer, into the acclaimed Dead by Daylight,” said Remedy’s Sam Lake. “We feel the lore of our two horror experiences is a match made in the Dark Place and can’t wait to experience the horrors that await him in the Fog.”

Alan will come with the Champion of Light perk (additional movement with a powered flashlight), Illumination boon (see Generators and Chests across the map), and Deadline ability (increased frequency of skill checks when injured).

Alan Wake 2 is now available on Windows PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and PS5. It won Stevivor’s Game of the Year for 2023.

Dead by Daylight is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5 and Switch; it’s also available through Xbox Game Pass.
