Warner Bros. Discovery confirms cancellation of DC FanDome 2022

The company will focus on live engagement with fans.

Warner Bros. Discovery recently confirmed that DC FanDome, its livestream showcase of upcoming DC properties, won’t be going ahead this year.

That doesn’t mean we won’t get to see what’s in store for all our favourite superheroes and villains though. Warner Brothers Discovery explained the decision in a statement to Popverse saying: “With the return of in person events, Warner Bros. Discovery is excited to be able to engage with our fans live at numerous comic-cons around the world and will not be scheduling DC FanDome for 2022.”

Sprouting up during the pandemic as an online event to replace DC’s usual content rollout across the convention circuit, the 2020 and 2021 FanDome events gave us memorable moments like the reveal trailer for The Batman and our first look at Gotham Knights.

It’s unclear what will be on offer at this year’s conventions after some major disruptions to DC’s planned film releases with the delays of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and the uncertainty surrounding The Flash.

In the mean time, it’s a safe bet to assume we’ll see more of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League which is scheduled to release in 2023 and we have the October 21 release of Gotham Knights to tide us over until then.
