Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0 coming free alongside Phantom Liberty expansion

You'll have to pay for the expansion though (obviously).

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0 was showcased alongside the upcoming Phantom Liberty expansion and focused on new ways to play.

Whlie Cyberpunk 2077 is available on Xbox One and PS4, this new update (and the Phantom Liberty expansion) will not.

CD Project Red took to Gamescom to show off “new features coming to Cyberpunk 2077 together with the Phantom Liberty expansion,” adding that “[s]ome of these features will be also added to the base game… as part of Update 2.0 which will be available on the current-gen consoles and PC!”

A new Relic skill tree is part of the mix, adding “a wide range of powerful abilities that allow players to master new playstyles and create unique, meaningful builds,” CD Projekt Red said. Phantom Liberty will also add a new location named Dogtown, complete “with endless dynamic events and missions, action-packed gigs, new clothing items, weapons, cyberware, and more to explore.”

Take a look at what to expect below.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5; we reviewed it here. Expect Phantom Liberty on those same platforms, minus last-gen, from 26 September.
