Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty release date coming 26 September

Whoa.

The Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty release date was today set for 26 September, CD Projekt Red today revealed at the Xbox and Bethesda Game Showcase.

The trailer was introduced by, of course, Keanu Reeves.

“In Phantom Liberty, players will dive deep into the brand new district of Dogtown — where they will meet sleeper agent Solomon Reed (Idris Elba), taking on a high-stakes mission of intrigue and espionage,” Microsoft said of the title on Xbox Wire.

“This spy-thriller adventure features a host of new characters, a gripping, choice-filled narrative, and new gameplay mechanics.”

The expansion will set Aussies back $49.99 AUD (pre-orders include the new Quadra vehicle), or those new to the game can currently pick up the base title and the expansion for $83.99 AUD.

“The full-fledged expansion to Cyberpunk 2077 features a hard-hitting spy-thriller adventure to embark on set in a brand new location,” CD Projekt Red said of its upcoming game.

“Over the course of the new story players will meet and work with new characters, including FIA sleeper agent Solomon Reed, played by Idris Elba. Among the returning cast is Keanu Reeves, reprising his role as rebel-rockerboy Johnny Silverhand. The expansion also comes with a slew of new content, including new quests, gigs, and gig types; new vehicles, tech, cyberware, and weapons; a brand new Relic skill tree for even more freedom for crafting one’s own unique playstyle, and more.”

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5; we reviewed it here. Expect Phantom Liberty on those same platforms, minus last-gen, from 26 September.
