Copies of Call of Duty Modern Warfare already out in the wild

Copies of Call of Duty Modern Warfare have found their way into the wild, with fans warning one another of the potential for spoilers ahead of the game’s Friday launch.

A number of images of the game hit the internet over the weekend, with one Twitch streamer named VonGarcon offering to sell early copies of the upcoming title for $250 USD each.

“The game is very much real! $250 per copy my home girl,” VonGarcon’s now-deleted tweet read.

VonGarcon even went as far as uploading footage of Modern Warfare‘s 2v2 Gunfight mode as proof he had actual copies of the game; that footage has subsequently been removed.

The news comes as an Activision representative confirmed with Stevivor that review code for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare would be available to press just 12 hours before the game’s launch. Stevivor has subsequently decided not to the review the title after taking into account download and play times in the lead up to the review embargo.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare heads to Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 on 25 October.
