Control Ultimate Edition won’t support old game saves

But will offer ray-tracing and up to 60FPS.

Control Ultimate Edition on Xbox Series S & X and PS5 will not support old game saves from the original Control on PS4 and PS5, Remedy Games has again confirmed.

“Save games unfortunately do not transfer over from previous gen to next-gen,” Remedy’s Thomas Puha wrote on Twitter. “The version of our engine in the next-gen Control is way different to the version used in the previous gen Control. Long story short, lot of changes in things like how we handle data etc.”

The Xbox Series S & X and PS5 versions of Control will offer up two graphics modes: a 60FPS (frames-per-second) performance mode and 30FPS graphics mode which adds ray-tracing to the mix.

Control is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4. Control Ultimate Edition heads to Xbox Series S & X and PS5 from 2 February 2021.
