CoD Black Ops 4 50GB day one patch detailed

A Call of Duty Black Ops 4 50GB day one patch has recently been detailed by Activision.

“Before playing for the first time, players will need to download and install a day one update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4,” Activision advised. “This update must be installed completely in order to access Multiplayer, Zombies, and Specialist Headquarters.”

So much for buying a disc from JB or EB and playing early from 6.00pm AEDT on Thursday, eh?

Activision did confirm that the game’s battle royale mode, Blackout, will be able to be played once the patch installation reaches 30% (or approximately 16-20 GB).

Over on PS4, 112GB of free space on your HDD of choice is recommended for “an optimized download experience.” The patch will take up 50GB of your download quota, and will actually be around 55GB when fully installed on each of the game’s available platforms.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 heads to Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 on 12 October.
