Bethesda opens studio in Montreal

Bethesda has opened a studio in Montreal set to work on console, PC and mobile titles.

Bethesda’s Todd Howard said that the publisher has worked with developers in Montreal on previous projects and now was the time to create a new studio in the city. “It’s exciting to think about the new games we’ll be building together,” he said.

Officially named Bethesda Game Studios Montreal, comprises 40 core developers and will be managed by Yves Lachance. Of the new studio Lachance said, “We are thrilled to be launching the studio in Montreal and contributing our city’s great game-making talent to the kind of games that Bethesda Game Studios is known for.”

Bethesda is currently hiring at both its Maryland and Montreal offices.

What Bethesda Montreal’s first title will be remains to be seen, but stay tuned.
