DICE has announced on the Battlefield Blog that the latest update to the console version of Battlefield 4 introduces the Squad Join feature.
Currently in beta, the feature allows players to create a squad with up to five friends and maintain the party across different multiplayer matches. DICE write in the blog post , “Squad Join Beta is the first iteration of the feature. We will continue to add features and tweaks based on your feedback and comments, and are aiming to release the next version of Squad Join when Battlefield 4 “Dragon’s Teeth” arrives this summer.”
The beta currently only supports maps shipped with the retail release of Battlefield 4 in Conquest, Team Deathmatch, Obliteration, Domination and Rush modes. The beta is also currently only available for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
Battlefield 4 is available for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
