Battlefield 2042 alpha coming July, beta before launch

And you can pre-order to get into the beta.

Battlefield 2042 alpha will take place in July, with a beta to follow that ahead of of launch, EA and DICE have today confirmed.

The alpha will take place in early July, though players don’t have a way to guarantee access. Instead, DICE will be emailing random, long-time Battlefield players with an invitation to join.

Joining the beta that follows is a little easier to do: simply pre-order the game. Those who do will get guarantee access, though other details of the beta aren’t known as yet.

DICE’s new Battlefield title was detailed overnight, offering 128-player battles on PC, Xbox Series S & X and PS5 (but only 64-player ones on last-gen). We also know its current-gen versions of the game will cost more than last-gen ones.

Battlefield 2042 heads to PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5 from 15 October.
