Batman: Arkham Origins’ online services to cease in December

Batman: Arkham Origins‘ online services will be retired in early December, it was announced over the weekend.

“As of December 4, 2016, the online services portion of Batman: Arkham Origins will be retired,” the game’s Steam page reads.

“We thank those that have joined us to battle over the last 3 years. The Single player campaign may still be played and enjoyed offline.”

For those unsure, Origins sports a 3v2v2 online mode that, according to Warner Bros. Montreal, “blends traditional Arkham gameplay with third-person shooter mechanics.

“Hunt as Batman or Robin against the most challenging opponents yet – friends and other gamers online – or take a walk on the dark side as a Super-Villain Elite and be part of The Joker or Bane’s gang. Gamers playing as a Super-Villain Elite will also have a chance to seize control of either The Joker or Bane for a limited amount of time.”

We’ve asked Warner Bros. Australia if online services will also cease on console. We’ll let you know.
