Back 4 Blood was today announced by Left 4 Dead‘s Turtle Rock and clearly is meant as a spiritual successor to the popular franchise.
“Back 4 Blood is designed from the ground-up as an original, premium title and marries the best of what made the co-op zombie shooter so successful with new features and state-of-the-art technology,” Turtle Rock and Warner Bros. said via press release.
“Back 4 Blood is a co-op zombie FPS with new features we aren’t ready to talk about just yet,” Turtle Rock continued in an FAQ. “We are going back to our roots and at the same time innovating on them. We know we have some big shoes to fill, but we’re going all out to surpass everything we’ve done before.”
While not much about Back 4 Blood was actually revealed, Turtle Rock did confirm it’s developing the title for Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4. We’ll have more on the title as it’s made available.
