Avengers’ Spider-Man content has no new missions on PlayStation

Hero, yes. Story, no.

Avengers PlayStation exclusive Spider-Man content will not offer up any new story missions, it’s recently been revealed.

The news comes by way of IGN, which similarly to PlayStation had exclusive rights to hands-on ahead of other outlets.

“[It was] a simple decision for us. Spider-Man can play all the content, but then we release a piece of content that’s good on all platforms,” Crystal Dynamics’ Philippe Therien told the outlet, explaining that the developer chose to tell Spider-Man’s story through audio logs and cutscenes found inside content that already exists in-game.

The site also notes that Spider-Man will attach his webs to an  invisible “glass ceiling” that he can also collide with if he gets too high.

While the PS4 and PS5 versions of Avengers will be the only ones to receive Spider-Man as a character playable or otherwise, all platforms will get a new Klaw raid on the same date: 30 November.

Avengers is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5 and Stadia.
