Assassin’s Creed Valhalla transmog now offered (but at a cost)

And players aren't happy with its implementation.

Assassin’s Creed Vahalla now offers transmogrification of gear, but the feature comes at a cost.

Transmog of gear — the ability to change an item’s appearance but keep its base stats — came with Valhalla‘s Title Update 1.2.0, which was released on 16 March to all platforms. It also brought forth a new Ostara Festival.

While players are happy that transmog — a feature that was available previously inside Assassin’s Creed Odyssey — is available, they’re not happy about its implementation. Rather than being a free feature as in Odyssey, this new implementation requires payment of a fee of 50 Silver at each instance.

“I’m sorry but why does transmog cost 50 silver?! It was free in Odyssey!” houska22 wrote on Reddit. “Also, 50 Silver is not a small amount either. This will just make me not wanna experiment with different looks, since silver is already so hard to come by.”

“Transmog was free in [Odyssey]. No reason for it to cost 50 silver each time here,” added EmboarIsland. “I know it’s a small amount, but the fact I have to consciously think about how much/often I use the feature is quite ridiculous IMO.”

Valhalla offers Silver as a microtransaction, paid for with real-world money.

Assassin’s Creed Vahalla is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S & X, PS4, PS5 and Stadia.
